windows XP Wait, End Task, or Cancel Message

I have been up now all night frustrated and trying to figure out a stupid annoying message that I have to push "end" on each time I shut down myy computer. I know these messages can be almost common for some but its a real pain to me. I reformated my computer only about a month ago now and this message showed up with in the first few days of the reformating and re-installing of all of my programs. All the "End Program" error message says is that "Sample..." is the program causing the problem. I have gone and done extensive searches looking for everything called sample on my computer but I cannot find any programs exe files with that name. I have looked at all my system processes and I cannot find anything either that seems to be sample. If anyone can tell me how to get rid of this I would be most greatly appreciated. First and foremost - have you done the requisite malware removal, just to confirm it isn't a nasty causing this problem for you? (malware could also pose a hinderance to any technical advice we offer)

Apart from that, the easiest way to remove this problem is to have the program not launch at startup. I'd follow the directions in this post to minimize the number of programs that run at startup. (Particularly any that might look like the problem application)

As a last resort, you may want to see this thread, posted by a useer who seems to have a similar issue.
