Windows XP will not let me log on

Hi, All, I was hoping someone has come across this problem I have. Its so wierd. But anyway, I activated my windows xp about 30 days ago. Now when I turn my computer on from being powered off (which i do not do very frequently) there is a window that pops up saying that xp has to be activated. So when i click on yes, it brings me to another window that says "windows is already activated." So i click ok, and then it just brings me back to the welcome screen again. Then as i try to click on my icon to log in again, the same thing happens. Has anybody run into this before? I already activated my xp, what could be the problem? Anybody??? Thanks

All, I figured out how to get into my desktop, but now the desktop keeps dissappearing on me every minute or so, Than i have to do the whole thing over again. Anybody know how to keep that from happening? Thanks

 

You could try this, although I dont know if it might work.
Right click anywhere on your desktop, go to Arrange Your Icons By>
And select Lock Web items On Desktop

 

Thanks, Never thought of that. I'll try when I get home from work. I still think i am going to have to reinstall Windows XP. I am just trying to get all my files off the hard drive before i go reformatting it.
