windows xp

Well i have a Inspiron 1150 laptop Windows xp..
I loaded software for the trendnet wireless adapter and it did not work the guide said to uninstall and reinstall the software.. i did then restarted my computer.. :mad and the comoputer only loaded up to windows logo then the white curser blinking in the top left corner:confused...

Then i got the error win 32.dll is missing..it wont boot to safe mode ..or to the last running config...

I do not have the windows xp os disk .. what can i do to repair it so i dont lose whats on the computer:confused

 

I'm thinking that you would need an xp cd to fix this issue...Do you have any friends that could help you out? You don't need to reinstall just yet, you would need it to replace any missing dll's along with this one.

I did find a disk that looks like xp pro ..i think it's the backup for this laptop

so do you think it will get me in :confused and should i repair it...

You can try to restart the PC while holding the F10 button, this should open you up in the Recovery Console, in the basic recovery section, which should do the repair without losing other data or files, (BUT as you know sometimes things will get deleted). Back up everything 1st if you can!
You will have to do all the windows updates, even register it again, but you shouldn't have to redo product key. On windows update, do the custom updates so you can see what hardware and software programs are needed

Only do the advance recovery if you want to complete reformat to factory settings

 

try option 2 and then when you get in, run the command chkdsk /p
