   I’m having a problem regarding my windows xp professional. My taskbar and start menu is missing I try to change setting on control panel but still it doesn't work also I can't drag my desktop icons I can click them but I can't move them in a different place I try to use "copy and paste" and "cut and paste" still didn't work!    The taskbar, go into Taskbar and Start Menu > click Lock Taskbar and Keep Taskbar on top of other windows > Apply ... does that help?
   
   
   as for the desktop icons.. is it that they just wont move and when you do the go back to the position they were in to begin with? if so check this ... right click anywhere on the desktop ( but not on an icon ) > arrange icons by > Desktop > and have only Show Desktop Icons ticked > Apply.
