winfax pro distinctive ring

I am using WinFax Pro and need to enable the distinctive ring feature. I have gone through the suggest process in help to set up distinctive ring. I found that the area "distinctive ring" is grayed out. This tells me that my modem "BCM V.92 56K" doesn't support distinctive ring. I am wondering if there is an update that will enable me to make that feature available with my modem? The reason I need this is because I have purchased a new telephone number through the telephone company that will use the same line my telephone is on. The new number will be used exclusivly for sending and receiving faxes. This new number will have the distinctive ring of "short short" instead of the normal ring.
