When I try to start my computer, I get the following message:
"WinLogon.exe could not locate component. This application has failed to start because netukhnd.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
My computer locks up and I cannot proceed further.
I have tried booting from the Windows XP CD, and also starting in safe mode, and the results are the same.
I am sure that I have some virus.
How can I start my computer to run virus detection and removal software?

I have moved your thread to the software forum. You need to be able to boot up to a stable state and then you can start a tread in the malware forum after doing the Read and Run First instructions.
