winrar - lost password

Hi, I have some mp3 songs that are in the winrar.archive format (.rar extension). Unfortunately it's prompting me to "Enter password for encrypted file" and I don't know the password. Is there a way to recover or reset the password so I can access these song files? Thanks.

 

You have files that you compressed and don't remember assigning a password too?

That's all well and good but if they set the password they should remember it or have a record of it. But, if they downloaded the file via P2P or other such methods and they are not legally shared files than we cannot offer assistance. Otherwise, I would have already posted such a link.

I know but I like to assume the best.. but your mostly likely right - it was from some P2P.. I struggle with helping anyone *cracking* passwords... that's why I said google... I guess most people never heard of "googling it"

sad thing is I have so many passwords - I forget a few - and even started using keypass - when I can remember to do that...
