Wins Me Problem???

I have a Dell4100 Pen III 933/133 384mb 20gb Wins ME. I lost my games in my programs. Dell tech tells me to Unstall Me & Reinstall ME and my games would restore it self. They told me to change my BOOT config in BIOS at startup. I followed there instructions. Now my system can only boot(restart) w/ my ME Disk only. HOW DO I CHANGE MY BOOT CONFIG IN BIOS??? I dont get any help from DELL. And dont want their help anymore!! NO, I DID NOT GET MY GAMES BACK!! If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate your help. ODIE

 

The config in your bios only tells the system which order to boot from. If there's no disk in the CD-ROM, then it should boot to the hard disk. Unless it's set in the bios to only boot from CD-ROM, or CD-ROM then floppy, or something crazy like that.
You should be able to go back into your BIOS and change it back like you did before. Try hitting Delete when the system is booting up. If that doesn't work, you can also try the following keys: F1, F2, F8, or even Esc.

It's possible that your hard disk was not formatted properly, or corrupted during the re-install. If this is the case, then the problem is not with your BIOS. You could try booting off a WinME floppy, and at the command prompt, type SYS C:

(I think that's the command). You should be able to make a boot disk from your CD.

Other option, is to do a complete (clean) reinstall, and not a repair. Copy your data off first though.
