Wintask error message driving me crazy!

Win ME OS. Every time I start my computer (Dell I-4000 laptop), upon reaching the desktop, I consistently receive the message:

"! Wintask has caused an error in <unknown> wintask will now close. If you continue experiencing problems, try restarting your computer."

Well... restarting does nothing do get rid of this message...ever! Any recommendations on where to begin to solve this would be very much appreciated. Thanks so much.

 

this is a virus ,i you havent already i would make sure all patches & updates are upto date on your software OS & AntiVirus
