WinTools XP 1.02 - cute but elusive

No tool names show up in the boxes. Just seventeen blank, black boxes. Anyone else getting the tool names to show? It works fine: click a button, a tool appears. Good idea, convenient. But kind of a guessing game finding the tool I want, as it is now.

I tried the author's website, no tech or even contact info. Tried d/l from his site as well. Same result. As required, I DO have .NET 2 installed and functioning.

Thanks for any thoughts and/or suggestions?

Same here. I've got NetFramework2 as well. No wonder the download is rated at 3. Too bad the nimrod didn't test it. It could have been useful with a hot key.

version 1.03 d/l from author's site WORKS today, didn't work yesterday.
Even tho the d/l at MG says v1.03, it is v1.02 (note title bar when u run it) and does not show tool names as described before. Or that was the case earlier today.

Yes, this thing BEGS for a hot key! Othwerwise, good idea, time-saver.

Yes, it does. Maybe MajorGeeks uploaded the wrong file to the server? Anyway, it's a time saver and worth keeping.

 

I am the author of WinToolsXP. I am sorry for the problems some people have had. Please get the latest version 1.03, which should fix the problems experienced.

I'm not sure what happened here, but I resubmitted 1.03 and e-mailed them via their contact form.

 

Thanks for the nice comments. Nice suggestion with the hotkey idea - I will look into that for 1.04.

 

This was a bug that only affected v 1.02 and earlier and only when using the "Classic" Visual Style in Windows XP. It is fixed in 1.03 - sorry.

 

I am sorry you think I'm a nimrod. I am new to programming and this was my first released application. Considering that, I don't think I did *that* badly. Please accept my apologies for the little bug in 1.02 or earlier - fixed though, in 1.03 and above.

My apologies as well. Apparently MajorGeeks offered the wrong version. The program works great and deserves a 5 which I'm giving it. A real time saver!

Yes! Desktop icon, PAD checkup wizard, "Very Nice!", as Borat would say. Much better. I like. I already gave it a "5" rating, I was sold at v1.02, now what do I do??? (I'll give it a few more 5s, can I do that? Don't tell.)

You have one space left for another tool..... put something good in there. How about "Performance"???? All the fancy graphs of everything. That would be cool.
