Alright, someone please tell me what is going on here.
The nearby thread, Freemake Video Downloader, is from me, as well.
Today I downloaded two software progs from Majorgeeks and both are causing my Total Security 360 AV to send out warnings, very specific warnings.
The other program, wintricks 7.0e is being labeled a Trojan Horse and it is labeled as bearing "HEUR/QUM07.1.malware.gen
I downloaded it from the majorgeeks portal site.

I can absolutely assure you that the files are not infected. All out downloads are tested before being posted.

OK. I won't dispute the accuracy of what you are telling me. but that leaves me with a puzzle: why would a quality AV program that has been stable and reliable for the past two years suddenly give a very specific-identity warning about two safe software programs downloaded?

It very well could be that the two programs have add ons that you need to uncheck when you install them.

Just be careful when you go through the installation and make sure you do not allow any add ons to be installed.

Good resources. It is good people like you (all) that keep the internet an asset and not a liability.

They don't recognize the program so it's flagged. They call it heuristics. Big word, right? In short, it means they can't test everything so they flag what they don't know. Anything Ad-Supported should be watched.

Anything marked Ad-Supported is red and links to this page for an explanation:

    Here's how we test:

Thank you for the overview. Now I have a better idea of what the AV program is up to. Yeah, heuristics just means profiling. The police don't have enough education to to cover themselves by calling their practice 'heuristics', for instance. If you want a big word, pseudohypoparathyroidism, with which I have had to deal, is a big word.
