After being unable to install IE8 due to a corruption in the system, I formatted my C: partition with my legal XP Pro disc but when I tried to install XP Pro I get the message DLL C:\windows\system32\wintrust.dll is not a valid image. I have used this image a few times with no problems. Now I am unable to get into my desktop computer.:cry

Hi ganmar, this may not seem too technical, but try cleaning your disk then try to install XP. I say this because I had almost the samething happen to me and all I did was clean the disk and it worked.

Looks like a bad CD. Got another copy and it installed OK
