On today's MG front page, there's a link stating that we can get the full version of the WinX BD Decrypter for FREE!!! Link: http://www.winxdvd.com/giveaway/ Anyway, upon checking it out a bit more, it seems that it rips movies to M2TS format ONLY. Wuzzupwiddat?!?!???!?!!!??!?! What the heck am I going to do with an M2TS file? This is the same format that is used by many DVR's and it is very difficult to work with in Windows. Why can't we rip to other HD formats/containers like Matroska (MKV)? Or maybe MP4/AVC/x264/x263?? Maybe I didn't read it right? Or I'm totally confused and way off base.... any input out there?

    Thanks.

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS! :drink

I do not know about that program itself but near a year and a half ago a girl I talk to on msn sent me a m2ts file. It came from a $2000 Sony camera. It was HUGE for a 20 second clip. But it was the best HD I've ever seen. Maybe they are using that format to maintain the best quality. I searched (then) for a way to edit it. I found a plugin for Vdub that could do it. Now there are a few programs that can do this. I know Sony acid can ($$$$$) I tried a trial of a Xillsoft program that also cold handle m2ts files. Not much help, sorry. I am gonna download this and play with it to see though.
