Winx Dvd Ripper - Trying To Get Subtitles Optional In Rip

    Hi,

That giveaway Eldon mentioned the other day ( https://www.winxdvd.com/giveaway/holiday-offer.htm ) is still running and I've been trying to figure out if it will do what I want but very hampered by a migraine that started somewhere round 4 days ago and hasn't decided to quit yet, which means I probably have another 24 hours to go minimum, though at the moment it's not quite so bothersome.

(Yes, I know migraines aren't supposed to last past about 72 hours but I'm not the only migraineur who goes beyond, so no, please don't panic and suggest I see a doctor - been there, done that, seen the neurosurgeon, had 2 MRIs, yes they found a brain...)

Anyway, the fact that the migraine hasn't quit is making thinking and understanding still very difficult (to the point that simple maths such as how many more to you need to add to 3 to get 4 can be a monumental task, sadly, that's not a joke) and I'm running out of time to decide whether I want just the Ripper or a package at low cost so any and all babying appreciated.

I'm hearing-impaired so subtitles are a boon to me. However, I don't want to have no way of turning them off - sometimes they hide what you need to see on the screen so I tend to use them when I need them or wind back and go over a section again with subs on, if I miss something and things stop making sense. As far as I've been able to figure out, in the fiddling around I did before the migraine hit and a bit of fiddling around this morning, it's not possible to get that with WinX DVD.

So I'm looking for help on whether you can do that with WinX DVD Ripper, do it with something else in one of their packages, rip subs from the DVD so I can put them in the same folder and have them 'switchable' or however, with that program or some other, at low or no cost. (I'm a pensioner, due to those wonderful migraines.)

I think that's clear but I'll recap in point form, in case I haven't been:
    - Would like to be able to rip DVDs (legally) to computer.
    - Evaluating unregistered version of WinX DVD Ripper.
    - Would like subtitles available, where provided.
    - Would like to be able to toggle subtitles on or off.
    - Willing to rip subs out separately, if there's a way, with separate software, if necessary.
    - Will consider other programs.

If I'm still fit to, I'll check back in a few hours. Otherwise, it could be another day or so till I get back to this but please, anyone with info, keep adding, even if I don't seem to get back to it quickly. Sometimes I head straight down with another migraine, especially when it's been a long one, and sometimes I forget what I was doing or have done during or just before a migraine so I'll leave this in my browser and as long as the browser doesn't crash, I should find it within the next day or so.

    Thanks heaps.

Not being able to turn off subtitles has nothing to do with Winx Dvd Ripper. There are 2 possible reasons.
    1. The subtitles are 'hard' - think embedded.
    2. The player doesn't support turning subtitles on/off.
You need to carefully look at the rip settings with regards to subtitles.

Would you like to try the two profile Full Title Copy or Clone DVD to ISO Image in DVD Backup?
They two keep all subtitle tracks and you are able to turn it on/off when playback.

    @chookers
Thank you for choosing WinX DVD Ripper Platinum!
I am a Digiarty staff. In the past two days, we did not get any feedback from you. To help you solve the “Subtitles Optional” issue in a quick way, I will answer your questions one by one as blow:

    - Would like to be able to rip DVDs (legally) to computer.
A: Yes, you can. WinX DVD Ripper Platinum will help you convert and digitize all types of DVDs
No matter your DVDs are made by yourself, or purchased from stores (from other countries), you can make perfect backup by using this powerful DVD ripper.
Uniquely, with the new title checking mechanism, it can access and rip 99-title DVDs, workout DVDs, music DVDs, movie and TV series DVDs. Even if your DVDs are scratched, damaged or unplayable, the software is here to offer a solution.

    - Evaluating unregistered version of WinX DVD Ripper.
A: Yes, you can use the giveaway code to evaluate full features of the software, you can use this version as long as you like ( no upgrade support for giveaway version)

    - Would like subtitles available, where provided.
A: Please check following image, you can select it from drop-down list.

    - Would like to be able to toggle subtitles on or off.
A: First, please kindly note that only Full Title Copy, Clone DVD to ISO Image and Clone DVD to Folder can maintain all the subtitles in the original DVDs. Other output profiles don’t include this feature. Please check blow.

You can select any subtitles you need when playing original DVD disc

PS, these three output profiles not only keep original subtitles, but also original audio tracks and video tracks. It is 1:1 copy, and the speed is super-fast. The copy modes take up to 5 mins.

    - Willing to rip subs out separately, if there's a way, with separate software, if necessary.
A: It doesn’t support this feature at present. We will consider adding this feature in the future version. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
If you can get all the subtitles from the original DVD disc, I think you do not need to rip subs out separately. It hard to manage extra subs file other than own one video file that including all.

    - Will consider other programs.
    A. Please feel free to try other programs and compare with WinX.

    Hello,
So far, I like the WinX DVD program but have a MAJOR issue with your comment, "The copy modes take up to 5 mins." Not even close. I have ripped 8 DVDs (movie only, no subtitles, menus, etc) and they took on average about 20 mins. I have now ripped 2 DVDs with movie and Eng subtitle only and they both took almost 45 mins. I am now ripping a DVD with full title copy as you recommended above to get full menu access - it estimates 37 minutes but will be much longer than that as the "remaining time" counter is hopping around like crazy and sporadically adds time.
So, not sure how it can be so different for me - I have a pretty new, high power laptop so should be getting top speeds?
