winXP crash

    my winXP has crashed when my dad turned it off by mains.

    now the computer would boot only half way through the process.

    i reinstalled winXP with enter and R option. i can reboot the PC with CD in computer (not boot from CD biut just in tray).

    I can view my files but it is missing past 2 years data

    before i do anything my software keeps wanting updates but i cant connect to the internet
    i tried to copy sp2 over and install but it taking a long time to install
