I'm working on an older Dell laptop, and is simply not booting. Here's everything I've tried so far: fixboot, fixmbr, bootcfg /rebuild, chkdsk /r, manually replaced all boot files (ntldr, ntdetect.com, boot.ini), booted to PE and looked thru C: and C:\Windows (etc) and all needed files are present, ran extended HD diagnostic and found the drive to be 100% healthy, I tried everything listed above but in a different order (2 or 3 times), I followed the steps outlined in this article. Nothing. Still no boot. There are no errors, just a flashing cursor in the top left corner. I have changed the BIOS boot order to boot to the HD only (disabled ALL other boot devices) and still nothing. All the data, documents, and Windows/OS files and folders are intact and easily accessible via PECD (such as UBCD4win)....

    Any ideas?

Oh yeah - I tried a repair install too and that was also unsuccessful....

Probably going to have to back up the data, wipe, reload......
