Can a Trojan keep you from using WinXPHome CD repair?
I tried to use it and it looks like it skipped the section that has the "R" for repair. It goes to delete partition instead of repair.
The trojan is in my Norton Antivirus and I tried to delete it. It has wormed its way into all my files that I use as Spyware Tools and disabled them. Now I can't even get Windows to boot up. It goes as far as the start up screen and starts over again.....and it won't let me start in safe mode either. What now? Any ideas? (The computer in question is my sons....I'm on my computer which works fine) Thanks for any help you can give. :)

writer997: Sounds like that Trojan is pretty well inbedded into most of your files on that computer. So if that is the case, then you really do not want to repair windows, you need to format an reinstall. This should then wipe the Trojan off you computer, and give you a fresh start. A repair would only fix the windows files that are there, but the Trojan would still be there also, so you would be defeating the purpose, in my oppion anyways.
