WinXP installation jams after driver loading

I'm trying to install Windows XP Professional from my own CDs on my friends' Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo TMS-7125 (or at least that's what it says in the back).

Knowing the brand's reputation I expected trouble and got some. When I start the Windows XP installation, it loads drivers for a while, then finishes loading them and gives me a black screen with a blinking _.

The previous installation was a Windows XP Home that was completely screwed up, so I cleaned the HD with Kill Disk and thought that would help. Well, it didn't, and nothing has changed. I also checked if the HD is damaged, but it seems to be fine just like RAM, CPU and other parts. The HD is a SATA one if that helps.

So, any ideas are much appreciated.

Hmm, according to Fujitsu-Siemens, there is a Scaleo T but no manual for it and to see or download the drivers requires a serial number :( The supplied picture is of one of 4 types of 'T' shown after inputting 'scaleo t' into the support page search.

There are also many links referring to the (MSI) MS-7125 motherboard being installed in F-S machines.

Maybe a slipstreamed install would be the best route, once the correct drivers are downloaded?

Therein may lie the problem. OEM cd's?

Yes, the only reasonable solution could be the OEM CDs, but the problem is I don't have them. And neither does the computer's owner. It all still seems rather strange, I've installed a lot of computers and never seen a problem exactly like this. Not even in Fujitsu Siemens machines, and they're the ones most frequently in need of repairs.

Thanks for all your help so far though. I think I'll try installing Linux on it or something if I can't figure this out.
