WinXP pro: How do you use Repair

    After my system was raveged by viruses, I have to many problems to use correctly. Can any tell me how to use the repair function on the XP installation disk? :confused:

    If you boot from the XP CD, you have two options in that regard.

    If you choose the "R" option to got to Recovery Console, there are repair functions that can be performed there. You will need the Administrator password to get into it. You will only have a command line to work from, and there are repair-specific tools available only from this special command prompt.

    OR, if you choose "Install Windows", the setup process will detect that you already have XP installed, and ask if you wish to do a "Repair Installation".
