wiping a drive

    I have an old dell sitting around with alot of crap on it, I want to wipe the drive, but keep all the important stuff that is needed to run the computer (OS etc) anyone help?:p

    I would say deleting everything is the way to go for a clean start.

    But if you dont want to do that way then you can uninstall all the programs except for drivers and the applications you want.

    Next get spyware apps like ad-ware se and search and destroy. (Get ride of the spyware)

    Now use CClean that removes unused and temporary files from your system.

    Use a registry cleaner like EasyCleaner

    Finally do a degfrag of your harddrive.

    thanks a bunch, if anyone else has input, feel free to add............Im on the old thing now, and I put my other computer (moms computer) I put her nvidia gcard in there (it plays halo well) just to see if it would work, this is all because it wont go into my dellE310, the bastard
