    Hey Y'all!!
Been a long time but I have a friend who was given a Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop. He is trying to wipe the hard drive and has all the back up discs that go with the computer. I'm having a brain fart and can't remember how to do this. He's not against a complete destructive recovery if need be. HELP please! :):)

When reinstalling the OS on the HDD, (if that is what the plan is)
Windows will ask you if you want to reformat. That's about the best way, if you really want to wipe the whole drive.

I'd delete any/all partitions then create new one(s). This will "build" new MBR, MFT, etc.

It actually doesn't touch the MBR ;)

    mkdiskraw will though ;)
