Wiping Free Space

Could someone recommend a good (freeware) program for wiping the free space on my hard drive? I am running Windows XP and currently use Glary Utilities space wiper, but the program reaches a certain point and then just stops. The last time I ran it, the program got to 51% completion and just stopped. After it stagnated at 51% for about 6 hours, I finally got tired of waiting and shut it down. ANY recoomendation/assistance would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Hi

Latest version of CCleaner will do this for you HERE the option is in Tools > Drive Wiper and make sure to choose from the dropdown Free Space only, note also that depending in the secure routine used it may take ages.
