didnt know where to put this but it seemed right. anyways ive been trying to play online with my pc and notice alot of ping spikes pretty much every game. someone has said it would be my cpu or gpu which i high doubt doesnt really have anything to do with internet ping. i did some testing around and thought it was my gateway but on another pc it didnt lose any ping and by the way im pinging my router with -t command. but my pc will sit at <1ms and jump to 900ms and back. im thinking it may be my ethernet cord or motherboard or something cause i can never figure out what is causing this issue. however i plugged in a different ethernet to a different router and it didnt ping spike. its a cat5e 25ft cable was trying to try the cable on my laptop but has an internet issue. if you want me to upload a pic with the cmd ping i can do that.

You already narrowed down the problem to one of two things.

    1. Your router.
    2. Your cable.

You can narrow it down from there pretty easily.

Not sure but I put the dlink into the 25ft cable no lose of ping so I used the dlink and used another ethernet cable and plugged into the gateway and stable 1ms ping?

Sounds more on the pc itself i saw my windows firewall was off and couldnt turn it back to recommended settings so i ran mgtools which is the only thing i know thatll fix it. ran combofix also and after that i had no whatsoever ping spikes......until i restarted the computer.

Would a reinstall of windows fix it or is there another way? All the sudden I'm having the naked for deletion thing pop up

The latency issue may be caused by your ISP especially if it TWC or RoadRunner.

A pathping is a tool used to check for losses of network packet integrity between your computer and our servers. Running a pathping is a great way to discover connection issues that may not show up in other latency tests. Follow the instructions for your operating system below.

    Click Start.

In the search field, type CMD.

Right-click on CMD.exe and select Run as Administrator.

    Type pathping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx > c:\pathping.txt

Replace the Xs with the appropriate server address.

    Press Enter.

Allow several minutes for the pathping to complete.

A file will be created in your C: drive called pathping.txt.
Type exit and press Enter to close the command window
