Computer was working fine A+++++. I rebooted it for no reason and after the windows xp loading screen i got a really long black screen that never showed up before, after about 2mins(longtime since before it was instance) and got this error.

    spoolsv.exe error
The instruction at "0x009b0687" referenced at memory at "0x009b0687" The memory could not be written.

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program
and one that looks similar only with "nvsvc32.exe errror" and "0x0042ele2" and "0xfffffffffff"
    I clicked cancel.

Then on my computer everything was fine and then the Lan card started looking for a connection for some reason, the ethernet cable was still plugged in. It's still looking for it as i type...

Same thing happens if i press ok instead of cancel...
Tried reinstalling lan driver... Still didn't work.

After googleing spoolsv.exe i saw it was a worm. So i went into sys32 and deleted it.. Still having the problem. Scaned my computer with malewarebyte and avast... Found some virus and deleted them all... Problem still not fixed.

Tried system restore. I got to the last window and click next. It looks like the computer completely ignore me and doesn't even seem like its processing the command to restore.. Left it like that for 10 mins with no results...

Any help? I really need the internet on this computer.

    SPEC:

    Asus p5q3
    core 2 quad q9300
    2gb ddr3 ram
    geforce 9800gtx
    xp pro sp3

I need to avoid a reinstall at all costs!
Also, accessing the device manager took a lot longer then usual... Usually instant. Took 2 mins and froze my bottom start menu as well while it was loading. *edit* everything seems to be taking a lot longer to load, and computer is freezing at times...

Computer is also not reading any usb flash drives i put into it.

spoolsv isnt a worm, its the windows process used for printing.

did you try to power cycle your router/computer?

yeah, i have tried that countless times. Everything was working fine before the reboot. So i know its not the router, modem, or cable. Its the computer.

check services and make sure dhcp client is running? its set to automatic, so it should be running, but its worth taking a look at.

Why does everyone think the only solution is a format?
Have you booted into safe mode?
Have you looked in device manager to see if anything has a red x or a yellow !?
Have you tried a repair install?
Have you run the recovery console?

Did you ever burn or create an image to restor to in case something went wrong?
