Wireless Access Point: Fried or Power Supply?

Ok, I know this is a totally oddball question and you may not be able to help but I thought I'd give it a go.

I've got a Linksys Wireless Access Point (WAP11) that's plugged into a BEFSR41 on my home network. It's been working great for the year and a half I've had it. Been on a shelf and hasn't been touched.

Somewhere in between 7 and 7:30 p.m. tonight, something happened. The laptop doesn't even see the Linksys so I went to check out the WAP. The Link light was barely on but the power light was completely out. After about a half hour, I couldn't get the link light to come on either.

Everything else - cable modem, BEFSR41 and all other computer equipment is working fine.

Everything's in a surge protector but there wasn't any bad weather in the area. There wasn't a visible power surge.

I went around to the local electronics stores and nobody had a power cord so I could see if it was the power cord or the WAP itself. All the power supplies I have here are too big for the dang thing.

So here's my oddball question. Since the link light was on, what are the chances that it's just a power cord issue? In the meantime, I've gone ahead and bought a new WAP11 but Linksys has updated it to a new version so even that power cord won't fit. Bah! Just didn't know if anyone had heard of anything like this happening before.

odds are, it's the power supply. I'm not sure what it uses, but it could be possible to go to the rat shack and get yoursellf a new power supply and a connector that goes with it. take note that you need the same voltage and at least the same current rating. if you can't find a connector, try the existing one on the new power supply.
