Wireless adapter disappeared!

Hello. I have a Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q830 that seems to have misplaced its wireless adapter after a windows update. It's not listed in the device manager, and if i do a ipconfig it only shows the ethernet connection. I tried a system restore, reinstalling all the wireless drivers listed here under wi-fi, flashing the bios, hard-resetting the bios (taking out the battery and holding power button down) and then finally re-installing windows. Still there is no wireless card listed in the device manager. :banghead

I would figure it failed by now if it wasn't for the fact that it happened right after a windows update and it is a pretty new laptop. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking. Please help!

I did check that the radio button was on and tried Function+F8. Also, I looked through the bios and didn't see any option for enabling or disabling wireless but regardless I reset it to defaults. I was hoping there was something else I could try before I start opening up my laptop.

 

It's Windows 7 home premium 64. No, there's no yellow question marks in device manager, even viewing hidden devices.

 

Have you tried right clicking on the section in device manager for Network and click scan for hardware changes?

If you have, then frankly, sounds like the card went bad. Honestly, considering it still being under warranty, save yourself the headache and just take it back to where you got it from.
