wireless and earthlink?

Ok i'll keep this as short as i can ...
the computer Dell with XP home 1 gig memory p-4 2.6 intell has on board internet connection
ok my sister got DSL and I hooked it up yesterday and it works well but I tried to add a netgear wireless modem (WGT624) so she can have her laptop run wireless and computer run off the cat5 cable , now I turned everything off and hooked it all up and powered the DSL modem first waited for connection conformation then netgear modem wait for lites to go steady then computer. Modem wizzard came up said it detected the hi speed set up and went to finalise then it failed (said cant find connection) so I by passed the wizzard and set in the correct dsn and set all elce to auto find it just wont work the main computer (with cat 5) wont connect and the lap top sees the connection and shows great signal stringth but wont connect.
hope I didnt go to far with info but was told before more it better so if need more info on this I'll get it but any body have any Ideas!!! in short HELP!! thankyou for and help!

Went to Netgear and came up on a troubleshooting procedure -

There's a note at the bottom about converting from dial-up to broadband. May need to delete your dial-up connection info because of conflict.
Try the procedure and see if that gets you up.
