Wireless AP channel issue... Please Help

Hello,

I am working on a wireless project involing cisco AP1200's. They are POE connected to cisco 6500 switches. PEEP authentication used. We are running the following channles: 1,6 and 11. Whenever we use channel 11 we experience excessive noise issues. Channels 1 and 6 are ok. Air magnets do not turn up any other wirless networks in the area, other than ours. Does anyone have any idea why this happens?

P.S. Firmware and IOS updated with no results.

 

May not be turning up any other wireless networks, but what about excess noise? Is AirMagnet showing anything around ch11? Are there any devices around that are 2.4GHz? First thing I would look for is cordless telephones, wireless cameras, wireless speakers, etc, anthing that could use the freq.

Something is using channel 11 and that same freq. You may not be able to use 11. If it's severe, you may get by with 1, 5, and 9.
