Wireless Card for Dell D420

    I have a Dell D420 that currently has an Intel 3945 pci-e wireless card installed. Overall the quality of reception with this setup is poor to very poor. I don't know if I might have a bad card or should go with something else. Looking for suggestions on alternate cards for the laptop. I use this for traveling so I connect to all kinds of AP's. Thanks
