Hoping someone can help me ?....
I am looking to turn my dialup Internet Service (Juno Platinum), at home, into a wireless system, for my Desktop computer, and my Laptop. I am looking for the cheapest product that I can do that with, and how to go about doing it. Is there a Router, or Access Point by someone, that has phone ports on it, and costs under $100 ? My home is not very large. I just want something that will work for me, where I am not tied to one room.
My home computer is an AMD Duron Processor, 256MB Ram, Windows 98SE, IE5, 56K Modem. My laptop is a Dell Latitude CS with External DVD/CD-ROM Drive, Intel Anypoint Wireless II Network PCMCIA Card or 56K Modem.
Any ideas that will help ?
    Thanks to everyone, in advance......Snake.

I know you don't have a mac, but you can use the windows admin tool to setup the dialup, which would be dialing through the airport, then shared wirelessly to your pcs.

Was hoping to try and spend less than $100. Not sure if it's going to be possible. The Apple Airport Extreme is double that amount though. Does anyone know of a product cheaper, that will work for me ?
    Thank you though Colemanguy.

There seem to be quite a bit of USB Wireless Adapters out there, in my dollar range. Would that work for what I am looking for, or would I have to go another route ? Someone please help me ? ...Snake.

    I have a question.....
I've posted this question with six forums total. One forum replied though with :
    _________________________________________________________________

"Juno uses a proprietary dialer. There is no easy way to do what you want."

    _________________________________________________________________

Is this true ? I know when I bought into Juno Platinum as my ISP, I had to download software to dial online. Is there a way around this, or do I have to get another ISP to not have this situation ? If so, is there another ISP that is of low cost like Juno Platinum ($9.95 a month) ? I know ultimately it would be better for me to go DSL, or another more efficient alternative, but right now I'm just needing something more cost efficient for me. Bought a new house and trying to keep down the bills for now. :)
Just for reference.......My laptop and my desktop are both Win98SE, and Juno Platinum, pretty much identical in most aspects.
Please someone let me know as soon as possible ? Thank you....Snake.

Juno might use a non standard dialer, but on there page you http://www.juno.com/s/numbers can get the phone number which should cause you any problems to dial it with out the dialer, but to find out for sure you would need to talk with juno support.

my only suggestion will be to buy another wireless card for your win 98 desktop pc, making sure it has drivers for 98. Set up an adhoc wireless network, and on the pc which has the internet connection (preferably an XP or win 2000 machine) enable ICS. I know this works with windows XP, is that the OS of your laptop?

Otherwise if anyone else knows if it will work with windows 98 as the host please feel free to chime in.

For now, I'm going to give this product a try : http://www.nebowireless.com/index2.html

A Wiflyer will probably also work I'm sure, but the cost is four times that of the Nebo Wireless, $50 compared to $200. I won't be able to network another computer, but it'll work for what I need it for, to make my laptop wireless through dialup. It also has a built-in splitter, so I can continue using my desktop uneffected. Maybe once I get on Broadband, down the road, I'll go another route, and run a network. My options will be far greater at that point.
Thanks for the help everyone, and happy holidays. ...Snake.
