So I got back from university where I'm connected to the internet by a cable. Usually when I get home (where we have wireless-Belkin) I usually just have to enter the network key in order to connect to the internet. However, this time, it hasn't worked, all the passwords and settings are correct, and I'm connected to the wireless with a full 5-bar connect. but I can't get Internet Explorer to work. I've set the Connections in Internet Options to Automatically detect settings, but I got nothing. I can connect to the net if I connect the Belkin wireless box(?) to my laptop with a cable, but otherwise I got nothing.
And I just ran network diagnostics in help and support and got this:

    (As you can see 3 + 4 overlap )

Technology pretty much hates me so if you could explain in idiot terms, I'd appreciate it!:)

Sorry, the pictures are so big!

Probably a security mismatch. Disable the Wireless security make sure thay you can connect with open connection, and then configure the security again.

From the weakest to the strongest, Wireless security capacity is.
    No Security
    MAC
    WEP
    WPA-PSK
    WPA-AES
    WPA2
The documentation of your Wireless devices (Wireless Router, and Wireless Computers Card) should state the type of security that is available with your Wireless hardware.
All devices MUST be set to the same security level using the same pass phrase.
Therefore the security must be set according what ever is the best possible of one of the Wireless devices.
I.e. even if most of your system might be capable to be configured to the max. with WPA2, but one device is only capable to be configured to max . of WEP, to whole system must be configured to WEP.
If you need more good security and one device (like a Wireless card that can do WEP only) is holding better security for the whole Network, replace the device with a better one.

Hi! I followed what you said, and it worked! Which is so great, so thank you! I do have a question though, when I was entered my WEP key to connect, it said that because I had disabled it in wireless properties, that I might be vunerable to people seeing what I was doing on the internet, does that mean like when I pay for things online? Is it a big deal? (Sorry, if it's really obvious) Thanks again for your help! :)
