Wireless DSL Router

Hey folks, I apologize if this has been posted more recently, but I am under the proverbial gun. And yeah, I can spend time looking up features, benefits and reviews--or I can just ask a forum that I have always lurked and has impressed me that you like security, stability as well as performance.

Anyway...short and skinny. I need to purchase a new dsl modem and a router or modem/router. Mixed use--but need security for business, have need for VPN setup--not simple passthrough, configurable firewall. But I do have need for ethernet and at least 1 USB. Most wireless attaching are "N"--not the latest and greatest, but equipment is getting upgraded as necessary (so yeah--go ahead and suggest something better than utilized at present, it is already obsolete anyway.) My guess router will be within a few months as well

If running such..please make a recommendation. Up until about a year ago when I did whole building spike and surge protection, I was going through these about every 4 months. Since doing building upgrade--I have not had it on my mind, even though I kept one always as backup--so I got lax. No matter what I have to order and have shipped, and my current backup is a PITA.

Thanks in Advance for your thoughts. Again, my main concerns are security, stability with some decent configurability--performance I probably wouldn't notice as much (well, backup router now running--I notice.)
