wireless ethernet bridge, ps2, xbox, setup questions

first time poster, think i'm computer-literate but always get burned by my over-confidence...

our system:
downstairs:
dsl modem ---> smc7004awbr barricade wireless router ---> winxp desktop
upstairs:
linksys wet11 wireless bridge--->ps2 (or xbox)

my son is trying to play madden 2k5 on ps2. somehow we can get to the internet but not to the madden game server. apparently there is an issue with trigger ports with our router and i cannot figure out what i'm supposed to put where in the router setup. i found all the port NUMBERs, but don't know where to enter them or what boxes to check.

also, we haven't been able to get the xbox to connect at all for halo.

any info sincerely appreciated.

 

well, i figured it out after one year of trying.
i reset the wireless ethernet bridge and reconfigured it.
i assigned it an IP address of xxx.xxx.2.11 (my router's range is .2.2 through .2.40) instead of letting it get the IP address automatically and assigned subnet mask 255.255.255.0
i gave it the same SSID name (default) and channel (6) as the router.
we plugged it in to the xbox upstairs.
on the xbox dashboard, we chose manual IP config.
we typed in the IP for the xbox as xxx.xxx.2.6
we manually configured primary DNS as the same as the gateway IP (xxx.xxx.2.1 in our case).
we manually entered our secondary DNS which we obtained from the "status" screen for our router.
that was it. it works great and nick is playing halo 2 online right now.
i still haven't gotten madden to work. if anyone knows about trigger ports on smc barricade 7004awbr routers, i'd love the info.
