hey all, not 100% sure where this should be posted..

Anyhow, i use a logitech G930 headset for gaming, and i use speakers for music/movies etc..

My question is, is there a way to make my wireless headset become my default audio device only when it is turned on. so when it is turned off, my music will come through my speakers, and when it is turned on all my sounds will come through the headset only without me having to change the default device from my headset to speakers and vice-verca?

I would suggest that you set your headphones as default playback device in control panel -> Sounds. Im not sure whether the system will be cleaver enough to activate your desktop audio when your headphones are off. it might just say device not available and give no audio

In my experience, even if the device is turned off but the cable is still plugged in, the computer "sees" and outputs to that device. I think it has something to do with the audio plug leading to a complete circuit, regardless if the circuit has any power going to it or not. If it's an incomplete circuit (think a sliced audio cable) the computer won't "see" it as an audio device.
