wireless internet connection

    Hi,
    Recently set up new laptop with my existing wireless router. Works fine for a while but then looses internet access yet retains local access. Running the diagnostic troubleshooter solves the problem or disconnecting and re connecting also solves the problem, but only for a limited time. Any suggestions?

    What kind of router? Is your new laptop Windows 7? Have you updated your driver for the wireless card?

    Can you connect to the router via ethernet cable for testing? Does the laptop still disconnect?

    If you are running Windows 7, i would look up the router for compatibility with Windows 7. Also possible there is a firmware update that might resolve the issue.
