my wireless internet just went down. when i'm wired, then the wireless internet icon says that my wireless connection is excellent. but then when i unplug the ethernet cable and try to go wireless, it says that the server for whatever address i'm trying to go to can't be found.

    please help

    thank you

when you switch back to wireless go to start - run - type cmd - enter
    type ipconfig/release - enter
    type ipconfig/renew - enter
you should get an ip address that looks something like 192.168.0.2 or 192.168.1.2 something along those lines

if you get an ip address that looks like 169.something then youre not getting a dhcp address from you home router device. try that out and get back to me.

    Thanks for responding.

    Here's what I'm getting:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    IP Address...............................: 192.168.1.100
    Subnet Mask............................: 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway.......................: 192.168.1.1

    Any ideas?

    Thank you
