Logitech Wireless keyboard and mouse - problems.
    Just a response (16 Sept, 20015),,,
I went to a chess site and tryed to run a java chess ap to review some grand master's games.
Because my computer does not have java installed I couldn't view the game.

My Logitech wireless keyboard (and mouse) started behaving strangely,
    all keys now are corrupted...
I will hit v and get B^ or j and get a 6. Or sometimes when i hit a key it will just endlessly print Eeeeeeeeees.

Other keys open Firefox, put the computer into lockscreen or turn on the screen saver. But the mouse works fine.

Tryed taking the batteries out. That didn't work.

This Logitech keyboard - on my other PC - and the same problem.

My regular keyboard (that is wired to the back) works on both computers.

I think that java has corrupted my keyboard.

When I did a Microsoft Security Essentials scan i found it a "Browser Modifier" - security threat 'high'.

Succefully removed that. But the keyboard glitch remains.

Is this a java glitch, an undetected virus or should I just throw the keyboard/mouse out in the junk Eeyore buy a new one?

Should I buy the same Logitech model Keyboard & Mouse, just so
I can find out if there is some binary secret hiding in my box
or go for a completely different product?

    Such a bargain at $50.
    :-D

Open Device Manager and uninstall the keyboard driver(s). Restart your PC and look if the driver(s) re-install. Check the keyboard.

Happening on two different computers suggests something in the keyboard, for sure.

How long were the batteries out? I would leave them out for a couple minutes.

You did not say which keyboard but I know some can be "reset" as noted here.

    It is a Logitech Keyboard/Mouse K270.

As per the above fix, I removed the drivers for the keyboard and mouse.

Some of the 'letter keys' now have restored functionality,
but many don't such as 'space' and 'return'.
Other letter keys are still glitched.

I think there may be about 10 other drivers for these peripheral devices.
But wasn't brave to just go deleting files without knowing what they are.

I don't know which are the drivers for the 'Logitech unifying receiver'.

    Hi

Have you tried a different keyboard and mouse, try and borrow a friends to test. Also boot into Safe Mode F8 at boot and choose Safe Mode with Networking and see if the keyboard works ok in that mode?

    Hi David,

Thanks, I am using a hardwired keyboard /w k270 mouse now; that works.
My keyboard problem may be related to the move to Windows10 from Win7.

The following link seemed relevant: https://forums.logitech.com/t5/Keyb...d-K270-working-ONLY-in-safe-mode/td-p/1009151

In anycase, the device manager hasn't got the following driver as mentioned at logitech forums: "Logitech Unifying USB Receiver"

As i can't download drivers from Logitech's site, i guess the solution would be signing up with DriverUpdate.net (maybe).
