Wireless Keyboard Locking System Up

Hi,
This is a weird one for me. I have a Keytronic Wireless Keyboard attached to my system. If I leave the system alone for 4-5 minutes, and I comeback, the system appears locked up until I press ctrl-alt-del. Than I get the task manager, and I can click things and type again. What happens in more detail is when it locks up the taskbar is completely frozen, cannot click on start menu, quicklaunch icons or right click. The mouse moves but whenever I try to click something, it right-clicks, even if I use the left button. Icons on the desktop are not accessible either. Again, once I press ctrl-alt-del on my wireless keyboard, the task manager comes up and all is well, I can exit the task manager and continue working with no problem. Also, every once in a while, very rarely this issue will happen while I am in the middle of doing something.
Specs include;

ASUS P4R-800-VM Motherboard
Pentium 4 1.5Ghz Processor
512MB RAM (64MB taken by onboard Video)
2 40GB Hard Drives
1 PCI Firewire card
Attached via USB is a Microsoft Optical Mouse, a Zip250 drive.
Attached via Firewire is 1 portable hard drive

I will also note that I replaced the keyboard once already, no luck. Please help, if you need more info, please ask.

 

No one has any ideas? I always get the stupidest of issues......

Nevermind guys. It was an ASUS issue. They just released a new BIOS fixing a bug where a "PS2 keyboard can lock up after booting into windows".

 

ahh... good deal. Problems like this are hard to troubleshoot and when it's a bios problem, it's nearly impossible. Glad it's fixed.
