I had a wireless Standivarius keyboard & mouse issued as part of a disability grant for uni (in the uk). The keyboard is nice and slim and I do like an external mouse for my laptop. The only problem is that the dongle tends to get damaged. I mentioned this to the uk suppliers and under the terms of the grant they just gave me a new set up. So the dongle broke again and I have 2 perfectly good ergonnomic keyboards & mice (? meeses) but no way of connecting.
I thought it would be straightforward bluetooth but it would appear the 'dongle' is a receiver (? 2.4 GHz). The company were helpful and sent me one for a small fee but it was for a newer model and they don't seem to be able to get one for mine. I have read somewhere that the frequency is set in the factory (perhaps like a car key fob). Is this true or is there a workaround. If not there must be a lot of people with non-functioning peripherals - it just seems like such a waste. (BTW Standivarius are a Romanian company)
