This really isn't a problem; it's more of a curiosity.

I was watching the local news live over the Internet (www.abc13.com) on my desktop PC with a wired Ethernet connection. While testing a notebook PC connected to the same network via WiFi, I went to the same site to stream the same live program.

The notebook PC was showing the live broadcast on what appeared to be about a 3 or 4 second delay. Both PCs had excellent video quality and no buffering delays.

Since these were identical live streams on the same website and local router network, what would explain the lag time on the WiFi connection? Is this an issue at abc13.com's end or something in my network?

Again, just curious. Thanks in advance for any ideas why this is happening.

Not really possible to know 100% what is going on but, I will throw out a couple of possiblities....

Depending on the speed of your two computers and the browsers you are using, they could be rendering the page at different rates. So basically the website gets shown a few seconds later on the laptop because it takes a bit longer to render it out than the PC when you first opened the web page.....

I would be interested in knowing what happens if you reload the page????

Hm it's a riddle without an answer....let's find it!
