Wireless network adapter

My Compaq laptop has broadcom 802.11g/b already installed. is on (enabled), but within network connections it is not connected I am freaking out trying to figure out what to do now so that I can go on next to connecting it the may 2wire DSL.

 

It probably not really enable or the drivers need to be reinstalled.
