I have a new computer and are running a dual operating system on it, windows xp pro with service pack 2 and windows xp64 bit. My wireless pci network adapter (Dlink airplus DWL-G520) is not reconized in xp64 while xp pro picked it up right away. Dlink is not making any 64 bit drivers for the card. The card uses atheros chip nad I have found two companies other than dlink that have 64bit drivers for the chip that is in my card. How can I adapt one of these drivers to work with dlink card I have. has any one else had this problem, and how did they fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Have you downloaded the driver?
Try searching for the driver on the x64 o/s and if it asks for a location, select the folder that you saved it to.

    OR

If it comes as a self extracting archive (.exe file) then run this in the x64 o/s.
Have you tried connecting the computer with a cat5e cable to the router/modem when running the x64?

It is Not an issue of drivers; the Chipset has to support 64 bits.

The DWL-G520 chipset does not, so you would need a New Wireless Card.

Bare in mind that each Chipset maker makes many types of Chipsets, some might and some might not support 64bit.

I have conected the computer with a wire to the router and it picks up the internet fine.

the dlink drivers contain 4 files:
    --secutity catalog
    --system file
    --DWLinst.dll (d-link coinstaller DLL
    --NET A#AB (setup imformation)

    other drivers contain 3 files
    --system file
    --setup information
    --security catalog

my question would be since the dlink has autoinstaller can I replace some of the files with the 64bit ones, if so which files do I keep and which do I replace. to install the new driver.

A second method woul be to install the drivers myself. Questions for this are how do I install the files directly and which files do I install that way.
