Well I usually don't have problems with Networking but for some reason mine won't connect. I use a Linksys Wireless G router with another computer using a Wireless G PCI Card, it has worked for about a year with no problems however last night I uninstall Norton Ghost 10 and today, it will not connect at all.

Any suggestions? I've tried closing all security programs, disabled my WPA encryption and even reset the settings.

What have you tried? Since your an advanced user, I hate to be redundant. Obviously you reset the router (completely powered off) as well as your cable modem and computers for 5 minutes.

Yeah, I just did this again just to be sure but for some reason it won't connect. It sits there saying "Connecting to wireless yada yada" and then just goes back to the list of Networks.

It worked fine before I removed Norton Ghost, not sure what's going on. I've even uninstalled the card and reinstalled it. Also ran two reg cleaners thinking maybe Norton left something but that didn't help either.

Switch from Windows to the drivers wireless management or vice versa? I had luck doing that. Having the word Nortons in there worries me :) Otherwise, if it worked before, you have covered the bases except one.. The rare time that hardware just failed and you assume it is another problem because it worked before.

In General, you can debug the Network Setting of the computer following these steps.

Step One. Check the Network parameters in the Computer's Device Manager. Make sure that the drivers are installed correctly; there is No IRQ conflict, and No Ghost installation. http://www.ezlan.net/faq#ghost

Step Two Verify Basic network setting in the OS: http://www.ezlan.net/Installing#verify
If the above two Steps indicates that every thing looks good but functionally it does not work.

Step Three. Check (and repair if necessary) the Socket Layers, Winsock, and or refresh the TCP/IP Stack. http://www.ezlan.net/clean#refreshnet

Thanks for the suggestions, however I have tried all of this. The only thing I havn't tried is a repair of Windows which I guess is my last resort. I have tried regedits, permissions, different user accounts, changes some router settings, I reset defaults, nothing has works. I don't think it's the router because I was on the comptuer using the internet during the uninstall of Norton Ghost. After the reboot error "unable to connect to all drives" I said....wait...what? Can't get anything on this computer to connect.

I don't have time to waste on this issue so I'm formatting this PC. Thanks for the suggestions and time. :)

If this doesn't fix it, I'll know it's the card in which case I won't be too happy, lol.
