I'm (on) a wireless connection and even though my computer is showing a very good connection I can't access the internet through mozilla or IE. When I try to get through it gives one of two messages.
Either Alert connection was refused or a time out message. Please let me know if you need more specifics on the message.

Having a strong signal does not mean that there is a working Network connection Wireless has to be configured with the right parameters to work.

If it is your own signal than check your configuration, if it is a signal that happed to be in the area, you need to get the configuration parameters from the owner.

Try opening a command prompt and pinging www.yahoo.com. Depending on the type of firewall/router that you have, you may not be able to ping. The important thing to notice is if it resolves to an external ip address. If not, then you have a problem with your internet connection or firewall. If it does resolve, then, you have an issue with your browsers (such as a proxy setting).

Need to know if you have a firewall! Also, are there any other PC's on this router that can connect?
