Theres many different types of wireless networks. The wireless networks u see with the doll are home wireless network that work through your broadband connection, you usually get a couple hundred feet distance. You would be able to get on anywhere in your home and possibly some of your yard.

There are wireless PCMCIA cards that you can get from phone companies such as Verizon that allow you to use their phone network for internet access, pretty much use the net anywhere you can use your phone. Costs a good $80 a month tho.

What you are referring to is not Wireless Network but Wireless Internet Connection.

There is few kind of these services available. The portable ones are based on getting the Internet through Cel. Phone/Modem that is connected to your Laptop.

Verizon and PCS provide this kind of services. Call them and they will help you to set up such a system.
