    Wondering.....
I am trying to make my desktop PC wireless without being tapped in to a land line. Can I do this? The reason is I don't have a phone line in the room that I want my computer in. So I want to have the router and access in one room and my desktop in another room. I hope this makes sense. PS I onlyhave one computer.

Thanks for the info. I guess what I don't understand is dosen't your pc have to be hooked up to the dsl modem through a land line? or can you just plug your dsl modem into the wall...then to the wireless router without being hooked to landline based pc. I am confused I guess. I understand it needs an adapter but what about the land line end?

The dsl modem can be hooked directly to a router, and the wireless connected to the pc, no need for a direct connection to the land line.

you could also get a router/modem in one unit so you only need one power adapter..
and still be able to use the router / pc in sepperate rooms..
