Just got myself a swanky new laptop and decided to make a little peer to peer network at home.

The home pc connects to the net using our high speed connection and i want to be able to access the net and download emails on the laptop. Got the wireless network up and running but having trouble sharing the internet connection.

Checked the appropriate boxes and created the disk and ran it on the laptop but to no avail.

Am I trying to do the impossible by not using a hub and just a wireless network card on the PC and the built-in wireless of the laptop?

OK so far the network bit is working fine, I can ping both stations from each other and can print ok from both. Its as if the IE on the client doesnt know to use the shared connection on the host.

Re: Wireless peer to peer and shared internet - SOLVED

Just in case anyone else comes accross a similar problem.

I managed to get it working.

All I did differently was to make sure that the client machine was connected to the internet when I ran the Network Setup Wizard. ANd then poof, there you go, Roberts your Aunty's Husband we have a wireless sharded high speed internet sans router/hub etc
