Wireless printer disappeared

I have a Lexmark X4690 wireless printer and last night it disappeared. I tried to print a PDF document and was prompted "before you can perform print related functions, you must install a printer" When I open printer window, it was listed and checked as default. I clicked to try and print test page and it disappeared. I still have wireless connection as my laptop was still surfing fine. I tried re-boot, nothinmg. I tried re-installing the printer but I have to find the UPS cable first. If there is a way I can do it without having to search through 3 years of clutter for the cable, that is great.

Have you tried a System Restore from a day before this happened?

Worth a shot. If it's still an issue after that, the printer itself becomes more of a suspect in the failure.

 

Alternatively, can you check the wireless settings on the printer itself by accessing the settings menu on the printer's control panel.
You should be able to find out the IP address under the TCP/IP properties and try to access the printer by IP address from a browser. This may help to re-establish communication with the printer.

Thank you for the help. Maintenance on the printer its self printed the IP, and I was able to search it out.
