I have an HP dv4000 and I got this strange problem with wireless connection. I have a cisco linksys 120N router and I can't seem to find away to get my laptop connected to my router. I can connect to my neighbors access point but not my own. Then I plugged an external ALFA wireless adapter and i can connect with that to my own router.

Anyone know what the problem is?

make sure you computers wireless driver is up-to-date. then make sure routers firmware is up-to-date as well.

Everything is updated! It's weird because other devices connect to this router.

    I am going crazy.

I don't know if my post is confusing. I mentioned that I CAN connect to other access points but NOT OWN!

The wireless switch is on, it does pick up signal but it won't connect to my own router.

    thanks

    Sorry if i confused you.

ALFA is an external wireless USB adapter that i bought.

I can connect to the neighbors router without the ALFA but can't connect to my own Router!

When I plug in the ALFA i can connect to my own router.

This is ipconfig when connected to my neighbor.

This is ipconfig connected to my router using ALFA
