I have had my wireless network for around 8 months now and everything has been fine. The setup I have is a Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless G Router (F5D7632uk) and a Wireless G Desktop Network Card (F5D7000uk). It comes with "Belkin 802.11g Wireless PCI Card Utility" which is the program you can see signal strength etc. instead of using the Windows one. I still have the Windows connected icon in the taskbar also.

Whenever my wireless connection disconnected for whatever reason I used to right-click on the windows wireless icon in the bottom right hand tray and clicked "Repair". The network card would then be restarted and reconnected to the network by using the Belkin software. But for some reason now whenever my connection disconnects its comes up with the following message:

I have tried uninstalling the network card drivers through device manager and reinstalling them, and also I have tried uninstalling the Belkin software and reinstalling that numerous times. I still get the same problem. For some weird reason it just wont repair.

Has this happened to anybody else, or does anybody know I can sort this out so i dont have to reboot my PC everytime I want to reconnect to my wireless network. It never used to not be able to repair it, but now for some reason it cant.

    Windows XP (SP2)

    Thanks for the help, jiminy.

What other connections do you have ...that one is connection#5 ...are there duplicates?

under device manager...is the power settings of the card checked for "allow windows to turn off this connection..."?

You have uninstalled and reinstalled thru device manager?

Have you physically taken the card out and reseated it?

Sorry the naming of the connection was wrong, I only have one now. Its just called "Wireless Network Connection".

I have looked under device manager, where are the power settings? The only thing i could find was "power saving mode" with the options of CAM, Fast_PSP and Max_PSP. At the moment it is set onto CAM.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled through device manager many times yes.

I havent physically taken the card out yet, maybe i should try that.

Right click the local connection / properties / on the first tab ...hit configure on the ethernet adapter ...you should have a power management tab.

Enable the local connection and check the power management of that device.

Beginning to think your ethernet card is going south. ...can you beg, borrow or somehow get a hold of another one?
